Deliverland

Anywhere But Here

29 year-old Percy Cartier lives in an old run-down hotel next to the Junction, perhaps the worst slum area in the fringes of Toronto. He works an tiresome job that only gives him just enough money to live on, his hot-heated boss constantly gives him a hard time, and it feels like there's not one person in his insipid life who cares what happens to him. The latter of which was something he was seemingly born to be used to. Otherwise, however, he feels like nothing more than a cog in a machine, wondering how much longer he can go on.

There's one way he's found to escape from all this mess, however, and it lies in the library where he frequently reads fantasy books of quests and wonderous worlds. It does little to substitute for the real thing, however, and more than anything else he longs for adventure. Something new, fresh, and exciting. If nothing else, then simply anywhere... but here.

Soon, his whole world would be put on its head in just a single night when he meets a mysterious enchantress who claims to have exactly what he wants for no price at all. Although Percy is suspicious, he dreads the idea of continuing his sad life, rotting away in the Junction, and desperate times call for desperate measures...
